Spotlight Blog: Patriot Partners Removal

Written by Wendy Butkovich

Sorting, packing, and moving remain a bulk of what we do. Working with families as they downsize, declutter, and prepare for the next steps in a senior’s life, whether it’s moving to an apartment, assisted living, or to a smaller home, PPR can alleviate stress along the way.

The team enjoys doing demolition services! From down to the studs demo for a bathroom remodel to taking down an old shed, PPR will clean up and remove the debris and leave a clean slate for contractors to rebuild, at a much lower cost than using their own crew.

Nearly every project we do for clients that want to age in place begins with a home safety assessment. By pointing out hazards and safety risks, families are able to weigh their options when making big decisions. Many people we meet for their initial appointment would prefer to stay in their homes, but have no idea how dangerous some of their spaces have become. If they are willing to listen and make some modifications, Aging in Place is possible.

Working with the County, the VA, and with other private agencies, as well as being part of the Outagamie County Hoarding Task Force, PPR has helped many clients with clean out and removal services to remediate hoarding situations. Most of these clients are close to losing their housing through eviction or condemnation of their homes.

One way our clients can help pay for our services is by holding an online auction. We use the online hosting site Hibid and our auctions reach a worldwide audience. These auctions have a structured commission scale and we handle everything from photography to shipping.

Our Rebound program is designed to help clients that are doing physical therapy after surgery or a fall at home. We work with their therapy team and family to be sure that the home is free of hazards by decluttering and downsizing in areas where the client will be recovering. If needed, furniture can be moved to accommodate rented medical equipment such as a hospital bed, lift, wheelchair, or shower chair.

Hopefully soon, the Nicolet Antique Mall will be open featuring our store Weathered Vintage, along with space for other consignment booths and vintage vendors. This will all be located in the former Nicolet School on the historic Doty Island in Menasha.
